Testing Services
Proctoring exams
For students enrolled in distance courses, the ACAC provides proctoring services. Two computers are available for online testing, as well as adequate accommodations for written tests. The ACAC is open Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm. Test dates must be scheduled at least one week in advance.
There is a $10 fee to proctor non-KSU courses. For more information, see the ACAC Fee Schedule.
To sign up for proctoring please email an ACAC advisor with your name and the course name and numbers to be proctored.
Placement Testing
In an effort to better serve our students, K-State Salina requires all incoming students to complete English and Math placement tests before enrolling for classes. This helps advisors recommend the best place to start within these fundamental subjects. Our testing policy helps ensure that students have the appropriate skills for success in their K-State courses.
Students who have taken the ACT or SAT can provide those scores as a supplement for the COMPASS placement testing. Click here to see the recommended courses based on ACT scores. Students who have taken the ACT or SAT, but wish to take a placement test nonetheless are welcome to do so.
Non K-State students and high school students can schedule a placement exam with the ACAC. There is a $5.00 administrative fee for each exam taken.
CLEP Testing
The Academic and Career Advising Center works with CLEP to provide students the opportunity to earn college credit through testing. The CLEP website lists the subject’s available as well as helpful hints for preparing for the tests.
Fees per exam are as follows: $80 payable to CLEP, this fee can be paid with a check or debit/credit card and $10 administrative fee payable to K-State Salina, this fee can be paid with a check or cash.
