K-State Salina’s campus not only neighbors the Salina Regional Airport with its 12,000-foot runway that serves as a learning environment for all aviation students, but is also located adjacent to Avflight - a modern, nation-wide aviation service business. When pursuing a degree in airport management, our location alone is a significant advantage for our students, however, the airport management program also utilizes faculty who are working industry veterans. They provide hands-on, applicable experiences during field trips, internships, networking and research.
In K-State Salina’s airport management program, students will gain an understanding of how to plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with the day-to-day operations of airports. You will earn a diverse skill set as you engage in curriculum related to public relations, economics, business and personnel management, civil engineering, labor relations, and policies and regulations in the classroom.
K-State Salina’s airport management program also gives students the opportunity to take the American Association of Airport Executives exam to become a Certified Manager.
