K-State at Salina takes pride in being one of the few university flight training programs to offer rotary wing flight training through a partnership with industry leader, Universal Helicopters.

  • Whether you are interested in a few flights, helicopter transition training, or all of your flight certificates in a helicopter, Universal Helicopters experienced flight instruction staff has the ability to train according to your needs.
  • The helicopter fleet consists of two Robinson R22 Beta IIs and one Robinson R44 Raven II. K-State students can earn all of their ratings and certifications in a helicopter, if they so choose.
  • This is an excellent time to come to K-State Salina. The partnership with UHI has provided for expanded course offerings and increased opportunities in classrooms and cockpits. This is also a great opportunity for veterans wanting to use the GI Bill to pursue a career in helicopter aviation.
