NEW CAREER FAIR FORMAT TO BENEFIT EMPLOYERS, STUDENTS

February 26, 2004

SALINA – A cooperative agreement between Bethany College, Kansas State University at Salina and McPherson College has resulted in the first ever I-135 Career and Internship Expo, on Thursday, March 11. The event will be hosted on the K-State at Salina campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The I-135 Expo replaces the career fairs for each of the individual colleges in an effort to improve the value for both businesses and participating students, said Lucy Crowell, K-State at Salina career services coordinator.

“ We’re excited about what this new partnership can do. It’s better for the employers because there’s a larger pool of students, and it’s great for the students to have increased access to a variety of businesses.”

Space is still available for additional businesses to participate, Crowell said. For information on the majors represented, or to sign up to participate, employers should visit the Web site at 135expo.mcpherson.edu/work_expo.htm .
