ALUMNUS ESTABLISHES SCHOLARSHIP FOR K-STATE SALINA

MANHATTAN -- John Vanier, Salina, Kan., has made a gift of $100,000 to the Kansas State University Foundation to establish the John K. Vanier II Scholarship.

The John K. Vanier II Scholarship provides support for qualified students enrolled in the College of Technology and Aviation located at Kansas State University-Salina.

Vanier is a 1981 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics. While in college, he was a member of the KSU Flying Club and is a licensed pilot.

Vanier is a member of Presidents Club, a leadership organization for friends and alumni of K-State. He is also a member of the development council for the College of Technology and Aviation.

“Kansas State University alumni continue to make an impact on students,” said Dennis Kuhlman, dean of the College of Technology and Aviation. “Gifts such as this provide opportunities for students, and represent an investment in the economic future of K-State-Salina and the community. John Vanier has provided an example of the alumni dedication, support and teamwork that has established Kansas State University as a center of undergraduate excellence. Mr. Vanier is an important member of the K-State-Salina team as we strive to firmly establish an atmosphere that not only allows success, but encourages excellence.”

The KSU Foundation coordinates fundraising efforts with alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to secure private support for Kansas State University.
