PROGRAM FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS COMING TO K-STATE AT SALINA August 24, 2004 SALINA – Kansas State University at Salina will sponsor an interactive program for first-year college students. “The Ultimate Road Trip: Campus 2 Career” will be presented free at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, in the College Center Conference Room. This event is one of many student activities during the annual campus Wildcat Welcome Week. The interactive program is delivered nationally on college campuses each year – more than 350,000 students are expected to participate this fall. The program emphasizes the importance of academics, time management, setting goals and maximizing opportunities both in college and in future careers. “The Ultimate Road Trip addresses many of the challenges that first-year students face,” said Shana Meyer, assistant director of college advancement for student life. “It gives students a variety of tools to be successful, not just as freshmen, but throughout their college years and into their professional careers. There is no cost to take part in the program, and participation is open to the public. Students also will receive a complimentary copy of Microsoft OneNote 2003.
