K-STATE STUDENTS, GHOULS COLLECT CANS FOR RESCUE MISSION

October 26, 2004

SALINA – For students of Kansas State University at Salina’s social fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, Oct. 31 is more than a day for costumes and candy consumption. Members of the fraternity will be collecting canned goods for the Salina Rescue Mission. From 6 to 9 p.m., students will be knocking on doors in Salina neighborhoods collecting the goods.

“This is the second year we will be doing a ‘trick or treat so others can eat,’” said Chris Laws, president of Phi Delta Theta. “We are hoping to get the word out better this year so that more people in the community know about it.”

Delton Gordon, faculty advisor for the Phi Delts added that if the ‘trick or treaters’ don’t make it to your house, non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the Salina Rescue Mission.
