Computer systems technology

PLACEMENT OF GRADUATES

Many industries--including aircraft companies, energy companies, banks, insurance companies, manufacturers, and engineering companies--employ computer science technicians as computer programmers, maintenance programmers, and program analysts.

Some programmers employed by large companies work in large groups that support manufacturing, engineering, research, and development efforts. Other programmers work for small businesses and manufacturers and function as the sole computer resource.

Some graduates work for companies as local area network managers. In this growing area of computer technology, the manager is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the LAN as well as the software applications distributed on the network.

Recent computer science technology graduates work for companies such as Alltel, DST, and Integrated Solutions Group.
