Directory Contents (ls)¶

Linux for Programmers and Users, Section 3.14

ls: List directory contents

SYNOPSIS: ls [OPTION]... [FILE] ...

-a, --all¶: show hidden files that begin with a period

-d, --directory¶: list directory entries instead of contents

-l¶: long listing – details described later

-F, --classify¶: append indicator (one of */=>@|) to entries

-i, --inode¶: print the index (inode) number of each file

-t¶: sort by modification time

-1¶: print in one column instead of multiple
