AMERICAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE INFORMATION

Any student who passes the American Concrete Institute    (ACI)  classes receives two certifications: one from ACI and one from KDOT.      The ACI certification takes approximately two - three weeks, and the KDOT     certification takes approximately two weeks longer because the ACI report     comes first to the KSU at Salina office and then is forwarded  to KDOT.  KDOT   processes certifications based on testing dates, earliest  dates first.      ACI certification is national and renewable within  five years.   There   are two parts to the ACI examination: a written  test and a performance  test.
Requirements to pass the written test are: pass each section with at least a 60% and pass the overall test with at least a 70%.  The performance section of the test requires students to perform the AASHTO or ASTM as specified by ACI while being overseen by a witness.
Anyone with at least five (5)   years experience   is welcome to test out.  Taking the training   at KSU at Salina is not   required to take the ACI examination.    However, any student wishing  to "test out" must have performed all  the tests required for the examination   before attempting the test.    Testing day is usually Friday, and instructors   or supplemental examiners   do not have time to review any given test with  a student.
