PEER TUTORING
Peer tutoring provides assistance to students outside the classroom for courses where students typically experience difficulty. Our peer tutors have successfully mastered the course material and come highly recommended by faculty. Peer tutoring is free to all currently enrolled K-State students and is available for several undergraduate courses.

COMPUTER-AIDED MATH TUTORIAL SOFTWARE
PLATO math courseware modules contain tutorials, drills, applications, problem solving activities, reviews, practice and mastery tests. The assessment test feature will automatically prescribe individualized learning paths within the math courseware for each learner. The interactive scenarios encourage learners to explore and apply mathematical concepts from basic computation to algebraic concepts to advance mathematical concepts such as calculus. The goal of the software is to help individual learners to get the supplemental instruction they need at their own pace.

PLATO Features and Benefits
• Provides a variety of practice in all levels from very basic math concepts to advanced mathematical computations.
• Allows students to practice before taking an exam. Scores tests in seconds for instant feedback so students can focus on areas where they need to improve.
• Creates a learning path to help fill identified skill gaps. Monitors item responses so teachers and students can assess individual proficiency and progress in specific areas.

To take advantage of this free service, simply fill out a tutor request application in the Academic Advising Center. Students can also check out tutorial software for some subjects and instructional videos for math.
